    but then, if you live with senses completely guarded, you miss out on life. I guess that’s why Buddhism is about the middle path, right? I’m not sure I’d be able to give up my emotions just for inner peace, though…

      That’s it.. you don’t need to give up your emotions- just be able to moderate them, so there are no extremes.
